Measure Before You Order: Fitting Furniture Through Doors, Stairs and Lifts

Nothing spoils the excitement of new furniture like a sofa stuck on the stairs. In Lahore’s apartments, older houses with narrow staircases and new homes with tight corners, delivery access deserves as much attention as the design itself.

Use this simple guide to measure your home before you order.

What you need

  • A measuring tape (a metal one is easiest).
  • Your phone, to note sizes and take photos.
  • Ten minutes and someone to hold the other end of the tape.

Step 1: Measure the room

Note the length and width of the room, and the wall where the main piece will go. Mark windows, doors, switchboards and AC units that should not be blocked. Our sofa set size guide explains how much walking space to leave.

Step 2: Measure the route into the house

Follow the path the furniture will take, from the street to the room, and measure every narrow point:

  1. Main gate and front door: width and height of the opening (with the door fully open).
  2. Corridors: the narrowest width, and any tight turns.
  3. Room door: width and height, including anything sticking out like door handles or trim.

Step 3: Stairs

Staircases are where most problems happen. Measure:

  • The width of the stairs.
  • The height from the steps to the ceiling or any beam above.
  • The landing at each turn – its width and depth.

Take a photo of each turn. Our delivery team can judge a lot from a picture.

Step 4: Lifts in apartment buildings

If you live in a flat, measure the lift door width and height, and the inside width, depth and height of the lift. Also ask your building management about delivery rules, permitted hours and whether the service lift can be booked.

Step 5: Compare with the furniture size

For each piece, you need three numbers: width (length), depth (front to back) and height. Sofas and beds are usually moved on their side or end, so the depth and height often matter more than the length when passing through doors.

A useful rule: if the furniture’s depth or height is smaller than the door width, it can usually be angled through. Ask us for the exact dimensions of the design you like before ordering.

Pieces that need extra care

  • L-shape sofas: usually come in sections, but each section can still be large.
  • One-piece curved sofas: cannot be tilted as easily as straight ones.
  • King-size bed headboards: tall upholstered headboards can be the largest single item in a bed set.
  • Dining tables with fixed legs and large mirrors on dressing tables.

On delivery day

  • Clear the route of shoes, plants and loose rugs.
  • Protect corners and floors with sheets or cardboard if you are worried.
  • Make sure someone is home who knows where each piece goes.
  • Check every item before the team leaves.

Read our Delivery & Returns policy for what to do if anything arrives damaged.

Send us your measurements

The easiest option: send us your room and access measurements with a few photos on WhatsApp, along with the design you like. We will tell you whether it fits and how it will be delivered. Delivery within Lahore is free.

Check if it fits

Share your door, stair and room sizes with us and we will confirm the right furniture size before you order.

Why Curved Sofas Are Everywhere in 2026 (and How to Style One)

If you have browsed interior photos recently, you have seen them everywhere: sofas with soft, rounded backs, sculpted arms and no sharp corners. Curved sofas have moved from design magazines into everyday homes, including many new apartments and houses across Lahore.

Here is why they have become so popular, and how to make one work in your space.

Why curved sofas are so popular

They make rooms feel softer and calmer

Most rooms are full of straight lines: walls, windows, doors, TV units. A curved sofa breaks that up and makes the space feel more relaxed and inviting. This fits the wider move towards warm minimalism, which we wrote about in our 2026 home decor trends article.

They encourage conversation

Because the seating wraps slightly inward, people naturally face each other. That is perfect for drawing rooms where family and guests gather over chai.

They are kinder in busy homes

Rounded arms and corners mean fewer bumped knees and fewer sharp edges for small children.

They photograph beautifully

A sculptural sofa becomes the focal point of a room, which is one reason they are so common on Instagram and Pinterest.

Fabrics that suit curves

  • Bouclé: the looped texture highlights the soft shape, especially in cream and ivory.
  • Velvet: channel tufting on a curved back catches light along each rib for a luxurious look.
  • Two-tone upholstery: contrasting seat and back colours emphasise the silhouette.

Compare the options in our guide to velvet, bouclé and fabric.

How to style a curved sofa

Give it space

Curved sofas look best with a little breathing room around them. If possible, avoid pushing one tightly into a corner.

Pair it with round or organic shapes

A round or oval center table, a circular rug or a pebble-shaped side table continues the soft lines. Our article on choosing a center table has more ideas.

Keep the palette calm

Neutral walls, light wood and touches of brass or gold let the sofa’s shape stand out. Add colour through cushions, a single accent chair or artwork.

Layer lighting

Warm floor lamps or a soft pendant above the seating area bring out fabric texture in the evening.

Things to check before buying

  • Wall space: curved sofas need a little more depth than straight ones of the same length.
  • Seating comfort: sit in it if you can. The back should support you, not just look good.
  • Delivery access: curved and one-piece designs can be awkward on narrow stairs. Measure first.

Choosing Sofa Colours: Emerald, Beige, Grey or Royal Blue?

Colour is the first thing guests notice about a sofa, and the decision most buyers find hardest. A colour that looks stunning in a showroom photo can feel very different under your own lighting, next to your curtains and floor.

Here is a practical guide to the sofa colours our customers in Lahore choose most, and where each one works best.

Start with your room, not the sofa

Before picking a colour, note three things:

  1. Light: Does the room get strong daylight or rely mostly on warm artificial light?
  2. Fixed colours: Floor tiles, walls, curtains and rugs you are keeping.
  3. Use: Is it a formal drawing room or a busy family lounge with children?

Beige, cream and ivory

Soft neutrals make rooms feel larger and calmer, and they fit the warm minimalist style popular in modern Lahore homes. They pair easily with wood, marble and gold.

Best for: smaller drawing rooms, apartments, homes with lots of daylight.

Watch out for: dust and stains show sooner, so they suit formal rooms or homes with older children. Designs to see: Victorian Charm and Timeless Luxury.

Grey

Grey is the safest everyday colour. Mid-grey hides marks well, goes with almost any wall colour, and works in both modern and classic rooms.

Best for: family lounges, TV rooms, homes with children.

Style tip: add warmth with mustard, rust or emerald cushions. See the Heritage Elite and Grey Bubble Sofa Set.

Emerald green

Emerald velvet is one of the strongest trends in luxury interiors. It looks rich, pairs beautifully with gold and brass, and works with both white and dark walls.

Best for: formal drawing rooms and statement spaces.

Style tip: keep walls and rugs neutral so the sofa is the hero. See the Aristocrat Sofa Set and the emerald option of the Silk Serenity.

Royal blue

Royal and navy blue feel confident and elegant. They are calmer than red tones and very forgiving with everyday use.

Best for: medium to large rooms with white or light grey walls.

Style tip: combine with cream curtains and a light rug. See the Luxury Signature Sofa.

Dusty pink and blush

Soft pink is warm and stylish rather than childish, especially in velvet with classic shapes like a Chesterfield.

Best for: sitting rooms, bridal lounges and spaces with lots of white and gold.

See the Infinity Luxe Sofa.

Black and charcoal

Black velvet with gold detailing looks dramatic and modern. It hides stains but shows dust and lint, so a weekly brush is important.

Best for: large, bright rooms where a dark piece will not feel heavy. See the black option of the Luxe Haven Sofa.

Maroon and deep red

Rich reds feel traditional and festive, and they suit carved royal designs and bridal rooms. Balance them with neutral walls and plenty of light.

Three rules that always work

  • 60-30-10: 60% of the room in a main neutral, 30% in a secondary colour, 10% in an accent. A bold sofa can be the 30%.
  • Repeat your sofa colour at least once elsewhere, such as in a cushion, artwork or vase.
  • Check fabric samples at home in both daylight and evening light before you decide.

Try colours in 3D

Our homepage colour studio lets you preview a sofa in emerald, royal blue, dusty pink, beige, cream, grey, maroon and black. Pick a shade you like and send it to us on WhatsApp to see which designs come in that colour.

Still deciding?

Send us a photo of your room. We will suggest sofa colours that suit your walls, floor and light, and share fabric photos.

Bridal Furniture Checklist: Planning Jahez Furniture Without the Stress

Furniture is one of the biggest and most visible parts of a wedding household, and in many families it is still planned as part of the bride’s jahez. It is also one of the easiest things to leave too late. Made-to-order pieces need time, colours have to be agreed, and everything has to fit the new home.

This checklist helps you plan bridal furniture calmly, months before the shaadi.

Start early: a simple timeline

WhenWhat to do
4–6 months beforeAgree the budget, list the rooms to furnish, and get measurements of the new home.
3–4 months beforeVisit showrooms, shortlist designs, compare quotes and choose colours.
2–3 months beforeConfirm the order, pay the agreed advance, and get delivery dates in writing.
2–4 weeks beforeConfirm delivery slots and plan access to the house.
After deliveryInspect every piece and report any issue straight away.

Made-to-order designs in a custom colour or fabric take longer than in-stock pieces, so build in extra time during the busy wedding season.

The core bridal furniture list

Bedroom

  • Bed set: bed, two side tables and dressing table with mirror.
  • Wardrobe or almirah, if the room does not have built-in storage.
  • Mattress, bought to fit the bed base exactly.
  • Optional: bench at the foot of the bed, a pair of bedroom chairs, chest of drawers.

Drawing room or lounge

  • Sofa set, usually 3+1+1 or 3+2+1.
  • Center table and, if space allows, side tables.

Dining (if required)

  • Dining table with six or eight chairs.

Choose a style that will last

Bridal furniture is often chosen to look grand on the day, but it will be used for years. Some tips:

  • Royal carved designs with gold detailing, such as the Sardar Royal Bed Set, give a classic bridal look that families love.
  • Modern tufted designs like the Signature Bed Set suit couples who prefer a contemporary home.
  • Pick a colour palette for the whole house so bedroom and drawing room furniture look like they belong together.
  • Deep colours such as maroon, emerald and royal blue feel festive; beige, cream and grey are easier to live with long term. One statement piece with neutral surroundings is a good balance.

Measure the new home, not the old one

Furniture is often chosen at the bride’s family home but delivered to the in-laws’ house or a new flat. Before ordering, get:

  • Room sizes for the bedroom and drawing room.
  • Door widths, stairs and lift dimensions.
  • Window and AC positions on the walls where large pieces will go.

Our guide on measuring before you order explains exactly what to check.

Budgeting tips

  • Decide which room matters most and spend more there; usually the master bed set.
  • Ask for a combined quote for bedroom and drawing room furniture.
  • Confirm what is included in each set (mattress and wardrobe are often separate).
  • Check delivery and installation charges. At Homex, delivery within Lahore is free.
  • Ask about warranty. Our furniture comes with a warranty of up to 10 years, depending on the product.

Get everything in writing

Before you pay an advance, make sure you have a clear record of the design, colour or fabric, sizes, price, payment schedule and delivery date. A WhatsApp message with photos of the exact design is a simple way to keep this record.

On delivery day

  • Have someone at the house who knows where each piece goes.
  • Check each item for damage before the team leaves.
  • Keep packaging until everything is set up and checked.

See our Delivery & Returns policy for details.

How to Choose a Center Table That Matches Your Sofa Set

The center table sits in the middle of your drawing room, so it gets noticed more than almost anything else. Choose well and it ties the sofa set, rug and decor together. Choose badly and even an expensive sofa looks unfinished.

Here is how to pick a center table that suits your sofa in size, shape and style.

Get the size right first

Length

A reliable rule is that the center table should be about half to two-thirds the length of your three-seater sofa. For a 7-foot sofa, that means a table roughly 3.5 to 4.5 feet long. A table that is too small looks lost; one that is too big blocks movement.

Height

The table top should be about the same height as the sofa seat, or a little lower. Most center tables are 16 to 18 inches high, which works with standard sofas.

Distance from the sofa

Leave about 1.5 feet between the sofa and the table. That is close enough to reach a cup of tea, and far enough to walk past.

Match the shape to your layout

  • Rectangular tables suit long three-seaters and 3+1+1 facing layouts.
  • Square tables work well with U-shaped 3+2+1 layouts and L-shape sofas, where seating surrounds the table on several sides.
  • Round and oval tables soften rooms full of straight lines, and are kinder to children’s heads in busy family rooms.
  • Nesting tables are smart for small apartments: use them together most days and pull them apart for guests.

Match the style to your sofa

Modern velvet and ribbed sofas

Pair them with glass, marble-effect or high-gloss tops and slim metal bases. Gold or brass details on the table echo gold trims on sofas like the Silk Serenity and Divine Comfort.

Curved and bouclé sofas

Rounded tables in light stone, wood or cream finishes continue the soft shapes. Avoid sharp, heavy rectangular tables that fight the curves.

Classic and carved royal sets

Carved wooden tables or high-gloss black with gold detailing suit sets like the Gold Majesty and Chandwa Sofa Set. The Black Versace Square Table, with its ornate gold pattern, is a strong statement piece for this style.

Simple fabric sofas

Solid wood tables with clean lines keep things warm and practical for everyday family use.

Contrast or match?

You don’t need the table and sofa to match exactly. A useful approach is to repeat one element and contrast another. For example, a dark velvet sofa with a light marble-top table that has the same gold legs. Repeating a metal finish or wood tone makes the room feel planned.

Think about daily life

  • With children: choose rounded edges and sturdy tops. Avoid thin glass.
  • For guests: a lower shelf or drawers keeps remotes, tissue boxes and magazines tidy.
  • For entertaining: a larger surface handles trays of chai and snacks during gatherings.
  • For easy cleaning: high-gloss and glass tops show fingerprints; matt and wood finishes hide them better.

Don’t forget the rug

A rug anchors the sofa and table as one group. Ideally, the front legs of the sofa and chairs should rest on the rug, with the center table in the middle.

Styling the table

Keep it simple: a tray, a plant or flowers, and one or two books or decorative objects. Leave enough space for cups and plates.

Browse our center tables and sofa sets to plan a complete look.

Sheesham Wood Furniture Care: 9 Habits That Keep Your Bed Set Looking New

Sheesham, also known as Indian rosewood, is one of the most loved woods in Pakistani homes. It is strong, heavy and has a beautiful natural grain that deepens with age. With a few simple habits, a Sheesham bed set can stay looking new for many years.

1. Dust with a soft, dry cloth

Dust is the biggest enemy of polished wood in Lahore. Wipe your bed, side tables and dressing table every few days with a soft microfibre or cotton cloth, following the direction of the grain. Dry dusting prevents fine scratches building up in the finish.

2. Use a barely damp cloth for marks

For fingerprints or light marks, use a cloth that is only slightly damp, then dry the surface straight away. Never leave water sitting on wood.

3. Skip harsh cleaners

Avoid multi-surface sprays, bleach, ammonia and abrasive scrubbers. They strip the polish and dull the grain. If you need more than water, use a cleaner made specifically for wooden furniture.

4. Polish occasionally, not constantly

A quality wood polish or wax every few months restores shine. Too much polish builds up a sticky layer that attracts dust. Apply a small amount, buff in the direction of the grain, and wipe off any excess.

5. Keep it out of direct sunlight

Strong sunlight can lighten or darken wood unevenly. Use curtains during peak afternoon hours, and move decorative items now and then so you do not get shadow marks on the dressing table.

6. Watch the humidity

Solid wood naturally expands slightly in humid monsoon weather and contracts in dry winters. To keep movement to a minimum:

  • Keep furniture a little away from damp external walls.
  • Do not place it directly next to heaters or AC vents blowing straight onto the wood.
  • Air out rooms regularly.

If a drawer becomes a little tight in the monsoon, rub a small amount of candle wax on the runners.

7. Use coasters and mats

Hot cups of chai, glasses of water and perfume bottles leave rings and stains. Keep coasters on side tables and a small tray or glass top on the dressing table for cosmetics and perfume.

8. Lift, don’t drag

Sheesham is heavy. When cleaning under the bed or rearranging the room, lift pieces rather than dragging them. Dragging stresses joints and can scratch floors.

9. Tighten fittings once a year

Beds go through a lot of daily movement. Check bolts and screws on the bed frame once a year and tighten them gently if needed. This keeps the bed solid and quiet.

What to do about scratches

Light surface scratches can often be hidden with a matching wood touch-up marker or a little polish. Deeper damage is best left to a professional polisher. If your Homex furniture has a manufacturing fault, contact us so we can check it under warranty.

Sheesham or MDF?

Not every bedroom needs solid wood, and good-quality engineered wood has real advantages for certain finishes. Our guide Sheesham vs. High Grade MDF explains when each makes sense.

How to Care for a Velvet Sofa in Lahore’s Dust, Heat and Monsoon

A velvet sofa is one of the most beautiful pieces you can put in a drawing room. It is also the piece people worry about most. The good news is that velvet is tougher than it looks; it just needs the right routine, especially in a city with Lahore’s dust, summer heat and monsoon humidity.

The weekly routine (10 minutes)

  1. Vacuum with a soft upholstery brush. Work in the direction of the pile, including seams and the gaps between cushions where dust settles.
  2. Brush the pile. A soft clothes brush lifts flattened areas and removes the marks left when someone sits down. Brush gently in one direction.
  3. Turn and plump cushions. Rotate loose seat and back cushions so they wear evenly.

In dusty months, especially during construction season or dust storms, vacuum twice a week. Dust that sits in the pile acts like fine sandpaper over time.

Dealing with spills

  • Act fast. Blot (do not rub) with a clean, dry, white cloth to soak up as much as possible.
  • Use as little water as possible. If needed, dampen a cloth with clean water and a drop of mild soap, then blot from the outside of the stain inward.
  • Dry with airflow, not heat. Let the area air dry under a fan. Avoid hair dryers and direct sun, which can leave water rings.
  • Brush once dry to restore the pile.

For tea, chai and oily food stains that do not lift, call a professional upholstery cleaner rather than scrubbing.

Crushed or pressed pile

Velvet shows pressure marks; this is part of its character, not a defect. To lift them, hold a garment steamer a few inches from the fabric, let the steam relax the fibres, then brush gently. Never press a hot iron directly on velvet.

Protect it from the Lahore sun

Strong afternoon sun can fade deep colours like emerald, royal blue and maroon over time. Keep your sofa out of direct sunlight, or draw curtains or blinds during the hottest hours. If one side of the sofa faces a window, rotate seat cushions every few weeks.

Monsoon and humidity

  • Keep the sofa a few inches away from external walls that get damp in the monsoon.
  • Air out the room on dry days and run fans or the AC on dry mode to reduce moisture.
  • If you notice a musty smell, vacuum thoroughly and let the sofa air out; persistent smells need a professional clean.

Everyday habits that make a difference

  • Avoid sitting on velvet in clothes with heavy embroidery, sequins or metal buttons that can snag the pile.
  • Keep sharp toys, keys and pet claws away from the fabric.
  • Do not use furniture polish sprays near upholstery.
  • Use throws or a cushion cover on the most-used seat if children use the sofa daily.

Deep cleaning

Once or twice a year, especially before Eid or a wedding at home, have the sofa professionally cleaned. Ask the cleaner to use a method suitable for velvet and to test on a hidden area first.

What not to do

  • Do not soak velvet with water or use a carpet shampooer.
  • Do not use bleach or harsh chemical cleaners.
  • Do not rub stains hard; it spreads them and damages the pile.

What’s Included in a Complete Bed Set? A Buying Guide for Pakistani Homes

When you buy a bed set in Pakistan, you are rarely buying just a bed. A complete set usually furnishes the whole bedroom in one matching design. But what is included varies from shop to shop, and that makes comparing prices confusing.

This guide explains what a complete bed set normally includes, what is optional, and the questions to ask before you order.

What a standard bed set includes

In most Lahore furniture showrooms, a full bed set includes:

  • The bed – headboard, side rails, footboard and base. Most sets are king size.
  • Two side tables – one on each side of the bed, often with drawers.
  • A dressing table – usually with a mirror and sometimes a matching stool.

Some sets also include or offer a matching wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a bench at the foot of the bed or a pair of bedroom chairs. Always confirm exactly which pieces are part of the quoted price.

What is usually not included

  • The mattress. Mattresses are almost always sold separately. Measure the bed base and buy a mattress that fits it exactly.
  • Bedding, cushions and lamps shown in photos are for styling.
  • Wardrobes, unless clearly listed.

King, queen or single?

Most bed sets for master bedrooms are king size. A common king mattress size in Pakistan is around 72 x 78 inches (6 x 6.5 feet), while queen is around 60 x 78 inches. The overall bed frame is larger than the mattress, especially with a big upholstered headboard, so measure your room before choosing a design.

Leave about 2 to 2.5 feet on both sides of the bed for side tables and walking space, and keep at least 3 feet at the foot so wardrobe doors and drawers can open.

Upholstered or wooden headboard?

Upholstered and tufted headboards

Soft headboards in velvet or fabric, often with tufting or channel stitching, make the bed comfortable to lean against and give the room a hotel feel. Designs like the Signature Bed Set and the Horizon Bed Set follow this style.

Solid wood headboards

Wooden designs with natural grain suit classic and traditional bedrooms, and are very durable. The Sheesham Wood Bed Set and the Elite Modern Wooden Bed Set are good examples.

Royal and carved designs

Carved frames with gold detailing are popular for bridal rooms and large master bedrooms. See the Sardar Royal Bed Set.

Materials: what to ask about

Bed sets are made from solid wood, engineered wood such as high-grade MDF, or a combination of both. Each has its place: solid wood is heavy and very long-lasting, while good-quality MDF holds smooth painted and lacquered finishes well. Our detailed guide on Sheesham vs. high-grade MDF explains the differences.

Ask your seller:

  1. Which parts are solid wood and which are engineered wood?
  2. What is the bed base made of, and does it need a box or slats for the mattress?
  3. What finish is used, and how should it be cleaned?
  4. What does the warranty cover, and for how long?

How to compare prices fairly

Two bed sets at different prices may include different pieces. When comparing, write down:

  • Number of pieces included.
  • Bed size and headboard height.
  • Material and finish.
  • Delivery and installation charges.
  • Warranty period.

At Homex Furniture, complete bed sets on the website currently start from Rs 150,000 (for example the Modera Bed Set with dressing and side tables), delivery within Lahore is free, and our furniture comes with a warranty of up to 10 years depending on the product.

Before you order

  • Measure the room, door widths and any stairs or lift.
  • Decide on mattress size and buy it to fit the base.
  • Choose a finish and fabric that matches your curtains and flooring.
  • Confirm the pieces, price, delivery date and warranty in writing.

Browse all designs in our bed sets collection.

Velvet, Bouclé or Fabric? Choosing Sofa Upholstery for Lahore Homes

The fabric you choose decides how your sofa looks, how it feels in June and December, and how much effort it takes to keep clean. In Lahore, where summers are hot, the monsoon brings humidity and dust is part of daily life, the right upholstery matters as much as the design.

Here is a practical comparison of the three fabrics our customers ask about most: velvet, bouclé and plain upholstery fabric.

Velvet: rich colour and a luxury finish

Velvet has a short, dense pile that catches light, which is why emerald green, royal blue and dusty pink look so deep and expensive in velvet. It is the fabric behind most channel-tufted and ribbed designs.

Good for: formal drawing rooms, statement pieces, homes that want a hotel-lobby feel.

Keep in mind:

  • Velvet can feel warm in peak summer, though in air-conditioned rooms this is rarely an issue.
  • The pile shows marks where someone has sat or brushed against it. This is normal and is brushed out easily.
  • Strong direct sunlight can fade darker shades over time, so avoid placing it right under a west-facing window.

See velvet designs such as the Aristocrat Sofa Set in emerald green or the Infinity Luxe Sofa in dusty pink.

Bouclé: soft texture and modern style

Bouclé is woven from looped yarn, giving it a nubby, cloud-like texture. It became popular with the curved, minimalist sofas you see in modern interiors, and it suits cream, ivory and warm neutral colours best.

Good for: modern apartments, calm neutral interiors, curved and sculptural designs.

Keep in mind:

  • Light bouclé shows dust and stains sooner, so regular vacuuming is important.
  • Loops can snag on pet claws, jewellery or rough denim rivets.
  • It hides small creases well and keeps a relaxed, lived-in look.

For bouclé inspiration, look at the Timeless Luxury Sofa and the Classic Royale Sofa.

Plain upholstery fabric: practical and versatile

Woven upholstery fabrics, often a polyester or cotton blend, are the everyday workhorse. They come in a wide range of colours and textures and are usually the easiest to live with in busy family homes.

Good for: TV lounges, homes with children, sofas that get used every single day.

Keep in mind:

  • Tighter weaves resist dust and pilling better than loose, open weaves.
  • Mid-tone colours like grey, taupe and beige hide marks best.
  • They breathe better than velvet in hot weather.

The Heritage Elite Sofa in grey fabric is a good example of an easy-care everyday set.

Quick comparison

FabricLookCare effortBest coloursBest room
VelvetRich, glossy, luxuriousMedium – brush and vacuum weeklyEmerald, royal blue, pink, maroonFormal drawing room
BoucléSoft, textured, modernMedium to high on light shadesCream, ivory, oatmealModern living room
Upholstery fabricClean, versatileLowGrey, beige, taupeFamily lounge

How Lahore’s climate affects your choice

  • Dust: all fabrics collect dust. A weekly vacuum with an upholstery brush matters more than the fabric itself.
  • Monsoon humidity: keep sofas a few inches away from walls that get damp, and let rooms air out on dry days.
  • Sunlight: use curtains or blinds during the strongest afternoon sun to protect colour, especially on velvet.

Children and pets

If you have young children, a darker velvet or a tightly woven mid-tone fabric is easier than light bouclé. With cats, avoid looped fabrics that tempt claws. Washable cushion covers and a fabric protector spray add an extra layer of peace of mind.

Ask to see the fabric in person

Screens never show texture accurately. Before you decide, visit our showroom at Muhammad Ali Chowk, Township, to touch the fabrics, or ask us on WhatsApp for real photos and samples. Many of our designs can be made in a different fabric or colour, so you are not limited to what you see online. Our colour studio on the homepage lets you preview colours in 3D.

3+1+1 or 3+2+1? How to Choose the Right Sofa Set Size for Your Drawing Room

A sofa set is usually the biggest piece in a Pakistani drawing room, and the most common question we hear at our Township showroom is simple: should I buy a 3+1+1 or a 3+2+1? The right answer depends less on budget and more on your room size, how many people you seat on an ordinary day, and how much walking space you need around the furniture.

This guide walks you through the decision step by step, so you can choose a set that looks generous without making the room feel crowded.

What 3+1+1 and 3+2+1 actually mean

The numbers describe the seats in each piece:

  • 3+1+1 = one three-seater sofa and two single armchairs. Five seats in total.
  • 3+2+1 = one three-seater, one two-seater and one single chair. Six seats in total.

A 3+2+1 gives you one extra seat, but it also adds one more large piece to fit around the room. A 3+1+1 tends to look more balanced because the two single chairs mirror each other.

Step 1: Measure the room, not just the wall

Before you look at designs, take three measurements:

  1. Length and width of the room, wall to wall.
  2. The main wall where the three-seater will sit, minus any windows, doors or AC units that cannot be blocked.
  3. Doors and walkways – where people enter, and the route to other rooms.

A typical three-seater is roughly 6.5 to 7.5 feet long, a two-seater 5 to 5.5 feet, and a single chair 2.5 to 3.5 feet wide. Designs vary, so always ask for the exact size of the model you like. If you send us your measurements on WhatsApp, we can tell you which sets fit.

Step 2: Leave enough walking space

The most common mistake is buying a set that technically fits but leaves no room to move. As a rule of thumb:

  • Keep about 2.5 to 3 feet for main walkways.
  • Leave around 1.5 feet between the sofa and the center table so legs and knees have space.
  • Keep doors free to open fully and avoid blocking AC vents and switchboards.

If these gaps disappear once you place a 3+2+1 on paper, a 3+1+1 is the better choice.

Step 3: Count your everyday guests, not the occasional crowd

Think about how the room is used most days. A drawing room that hosts four to five people regularly works well with a 3+1+1. If family gatherings of six or more are frequent, a 3+2+1 makes sense, provided the room can handle it.

For the few days a year when more people visit, extra dining chairs or a pair of ottomans are easier than a sofa set that dominates the room the rest of the year.

Layouts that work in Lahore homes

Facing layout (best for 3+1+1)

Place the three-seater against the main wall and the two single chairs facing it, with the center table in between. This creates a formal, conversation-friendly setup that suits most drawing rooms in DHA, Johar Town and Township homes.

U-shape (best for 3+2+1)

Three-seater against the main wall, the two-seater on one side and the single chair on the other. This needs a wider room but seats six comfortably around one table.

L-shape feel without an L-shape sofa

In narrower rooms, put the three-seater on the long wall and the two-seater on the adjoining wall, with the single chair placed near the window. If you love the corner look, an L-shape sofa may suit you better – ask us for current L-shape designs.

Scale matters as much as seat count

Two sets with the same seat count can feel very different. Chunky arms and deep seats take up more floor space than slim, curved designs. In smaller rooms choose:

  • Raised legs, which show more floor and make the room feel bigger.
  • Slimmer arms and a lower back.
  • Light fabrics such as cream, beige or soft grey.

In larger rooms, a bold design like a carved royal set or a channel-tufted velvet sofa holds its own without looking lost.
